Chapter History

 EAA Chapter 1327 was formed over the course of several months during 2001.  Enough interest was found among residents of Centre County Pennsylvania to justify forming a local chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association. At the time of application to EAA for our Chapter, the interim officers were David Ascencio, President; Kerry Uhler, Secretary; and Denny Sager, Treasurer.  With acceptance by EAA headquarters in Oshkosh, Wisconsin came the first general election of officers.  Dave Ascencio having asked to be relieved due to time requirements of business and a growing family, the membership elected Steve Dershimeer as President, Ron Bowman as Vice-President, Kerry Uhler as Secretary and Denny Sager as Treasurer.

The members are a fascinating group, with tremendous experience and expertise.  They represent a treasure trove of information and anecdotal experience.  While we enjoy the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts on a regular basis, we are aware our actions may have far reaching implications.  We have no way of knowing what sort of impact our group may have on aviation in the world.  Perhaps a future astronaut will have their interest in aviation piqued by a Young Eagles program.  Perhaps a pioneering inventor/engineer will have been trained by a member.  Perhaps you...
